UPGRADING MARIBYRNONG’S SPORTING FACILITIES
A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will put $1.55 million towards upgrading Moonee Valley City Council recreation reserves.
This election commitment includes $1 million to support a pavilion upgrade at Walter Street Reserve – the home of the Ascot Vale Panthers Junior Football Club. This funding would go towards delivering new changerooms, multipurpose spaces and an improved building layout.
A further $500,000 would go towards upgrades at Maribyrnong Park Pavilion including a fully equipped commercial kitchen, a barbecue shelter, new seating and protective structures and a first aid room.
Another $50,000 would go towards an electronic scoreboard for junior football and cricket clubs at Lebanon Reserve Strathmore.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to Jo Briskey, Labor Candidate for Maribyrnong: “This announcement will be a game changer for our local sporting clubs.
“I’m proud to be continuing Federal Labor’s work supporting local sporting groups in Maribyrnong.”
